MEET THE GOOD EARS
OR SHOULD WE SAY MEET HALEY
HI, I'M HALEY
& I am the face behind The Good Ears! Ever since I was a kid, I've loved everything magic and fantasy. I'd day dream about music, colors, shapes and textures and how they could tell a story. I would get this inspiration out through any craft I could find--painting, throwing pottery, knitting--you name it. Fast forward to college, I got my degree in media arts with a focus in videography & graphic design as well as an English Communications degree. After a short stint in film making & freelance videography, I got my MBA and my toolset was complete. I finally had the dream & the skills to do what I wanted to do most--share my creations with others. It's still crazy to me to have this sort of platform, and I'm so thankful for it every single day!
You can read more about my story below and also meet Gabby, our other maker!
ALL STORIES HAVE A BEGINNING
HERE'S OURS↓
MY FIRST EARS
This dream began in 2017 with a poor quality photo and some poorly made ears (with a lot of love though!). While these ears weren't perfect, they were mine. And I couldn't wait to make more.
2018 - FIRST SHOP OPENING
I launched my Instagram in 2018 and officially opened for business in June. While I didn't make any sales besides making ears as gifts for family & friends, I had so much fun posting my creations online!
2019 - LIVING A DIFFERENT DREAM
I stepped away from my mouse ear dream to pursue another dream that had ears--working for the main guy himself.
2020 - HARD TIMES MEANS GOING BACK TO HAPPY THINGS
In April 2020, I opened up my shop (with probably the most difficult pair of ears I've ever made--pictured) and my dream finally took off. We hit 10k followers within a year of opening up permanently and we haven't looked back since!
2022 - BRINGING GABBY ON THE TEAM
There came a time when the work became too much, and I needed help. That's when Gabby came into the picture! She is a talented fellow crafter (@shopspotterie) as well as a masterful seamstress. She helps part-time with my lil business and I truly wouldn't be where I am without her!
